I was an MS and I knew more about the bible than most elders. Where elderhood shines is in knowing how to toe the line between WT$ rules and their interpretations of the scriptures.
Just my .02.
this has been brought up here, so i want to see if i understand right.
as elders, did you read and study the bible thoroughly, or just the stuff that corresponds with the wt books and magazines?.
tammy.

i found this video and it summarizes it very simple.
i hope you enjoy it.
life is too short to waste it on fairy tales.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0wwzc-vz7y&feature=related.
I dont know kinda hard to fight this guys reasoning and logic!
what is the strangest or most wacked-out comment or answer you've ever heard at a wt or book study?.
i remember at the cong.
wt study, we were studying about the jews being led out of egypt by moses.
On the prayer thing we had a brother who tried to incorporate a scripture from the meeting into his prayer. The scripture was the one about the bible being an Ox goad the prayer was 'thankyou for your word which is as good as oxtails to us.'
i'm 19 and trying to get a job.
my dad won't pay for my college if i don't pioneer.. if i get a job, i can't pioneer while in college.. i can supposedly work and study, but i need a good way to get rid of pioneering (it was never my idea in the first place - blame the parents with their social coercion).. if i stop pioneering, i will be told by my parents that i don't love jehovah (not that i care what they say).. how can i do this as painlessly as possible?.
i want to move out someday and have enough money to do this.. by the way, if you read my started topics you will see my situation in more detail and that my dad is the coordinator of the boe..
Moesh damn't!!! Now I'am fighting the urge to keep from making that pic my desktop scrren. I need some milk or a pillow.
anyone heard about this eddie long guy in atlanta who is being sued for alleged sexual misconduct?
i haven't seen any threads about it.
apologies if i missed it and this is a re-hash.... here's a link to an msnbc article:.
This is directed to the black church but I found some great similarities with dub-dom.

from all the "annual general meeting" notes floating around, one quotation stands out in particular:.
many older ones already are telling the younger ones how they regretted not getting an education, pursuing a lucrative career, saving up money or not having a retirement plan.
the sad truth is that such ones are like the murmurers of israel when coming out of egypt.. what does this remark tell us?.
My mothers favorite saying was "the great crowd isn't running it like the annointed did!"
I will bet a lot of oldtimers are getting that sinking feeling.

my wife and i held off the announcement and were able to attend my bil's wedding & reception this past weekend.
Don't forget double think or doublespeek.
just got back from an awesome time in maui.
today we got a call from my fil.
my mil has been in utah for the last week or so and found out that her family past was full of "demon activity".
Here's a convo I ve been kicking around in my head that I know I will eventually have to face up to.
You as a man have to make a stand for what you know to be right and best for you. You may feel that this will hurt your wife and are considerate of her feeling's, but you have to put that aside. And you know what...after all is said and done she will respect you more if you stand up and be true to yourself.
Cant remember the poster's name who always tell's you to man up and leave but he is right. Choice is your's as andy dufrain says ' Get busy living or get busy dieing.'
ANd I mean that as an inspirational phrase not to put other bad thoughts in.
Went to friends house to watch the MI Vs MSU game (Great win for MSU) he had a very nice Heaven rum cigar. Loved it so much after smoking we went to the cigar factory. This place was man-cave heaven! They had the game on, nice plush loungers and people were enjoying the smokes they just bought.
Also picked me up an olivia which my friend raves about.

Nothing like a good scotch or cognac with a cigar. Its also a great way to celebrate getting out od dub-dom without going overboard.
